5318: Module 1 Assignment-Instructional Design

I'm thrilled to share with you all an amazing new project that I've been working on, which brings together game design, biology, and English classes in a truly innovative way. This interdisciplinary collaboration will challenge high school students in grades 10-12 to create high-quality, immersive educational games that teach players about the powerful concepts of neuroplasticity and growth mindset.

In this short walkthrough video, I'll give you an overview of the key details about this project - from the focused subject areas, to the intended audience, to the timeline and assessment methods we'll be using. The end goal is for these student teams to produce engaging games that not only educate, but also entertain.

I'm really excited for this blended learning experience, where students will be working together across disciplines, honing their critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. It's going to be an intense, but incredibly rewarding journey as they research, prototype, and build out their games over the course of the trimester.

I can't wait to see the final products and to share the students' design process, challenges, and learning outcomes. This is going to be an amazing opportunity for them to apply their knowledge in a authentic, real-world game development project. I hope you enjoy the walkthrough - let me know if you have any other questions!
