Innovation Proposal

Dear Teachers and Administrators of Hurst Euless Bedford Independent School District,

I am writing to share with you an exciting vision for a collaborative blended learning experience that has the potential to unlock our students' full potential. As an educator, I'm constantly seeking new ways to engage and empower my students. I want to nurture their creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills to prepare them for the real world. This passion has led me to envision a multi-discipline blended learning program that could truly be a unique and powerful experience for our students, teachers, and community.

In this pilot project I would combine students from Creative Writing, and Science classes with my Game Design students to create immersive games centered around the concepts of neuroplasticity and growth mindset. By blending these diverse disciplines, we will benefit from more in depth perspectives which will empower us to craft a much more rich interactive experience while bringing these powerful ideas to life. I will test this method out initially with my level 2 students for a week long project and then share the results.

Students would form cross-discipline groups to gain hands-on expertise in game design, writing compelling narrative, and ensuring scientific accuracy. Collaborating across subjects would encourage them to practice communication, problem-solving, and teamwork. This real-world experience would engage them in active learning and skill growth.

The completed student made games would not just entertain, but motivate players to believe in their own potential. The games aim to unlock growth mindsets inside of everyone that plays them while illustrating the brain's incredible capacity to adapt and evolve.

This blended learning approach would have so many benefits:

- Increased engagement and motivation through fun, hands-on projects.

- Exposure to real-world teamwork and careers.

- Enhanced critical thinking, problem solving, as well as creativity.

- Deepened knowledge of neuroscience, psychology, 3D animation, computer programming.

- Skill growth in interaction design, creative storytelling, and science representation.

To make this vision a reality, I'll need the support of my fellow teachers, administrators, and the community.

Additional Resources requested:

-Buses to bring multiple classes together from different campuses.

-Laptops for writing, research and running the game engine.

-Club participation

We have the potential to craft an educational experience that enables students to unleash their full capabilities. The future of education ought to be marked by creativity, adaptability, and a student-centric approach. By embracing the concept of game-based blended learning, we can revolutionize the classroom, turning it into a vibrant space where young minds are encouraged to explore, develop, and discover-together. I'm thrilled to transform this vision into a tangible, inspiring reality that instills self-belief in students and encourages them to realize their boundless potential.

I appreciate your time and consideration.
